As part of the London Lines project taking place from Friday 31 May 2013 – Sunday 8 September 2013 Poems inspired by London’s boroughs are popping up all over Southbank Centre.
I was asked as a poet to represent the borough of Southwark and come up with my own vision of this 21st-century capital city. The poems from the boroughs have then been handed over to artists – muralists, film-makers, architects and more – who in turn have created their own visual interpretations.
These artworks are being exhibited across Southbank Centre throughout the summer, so come along and find them. The page opposite will help you on the trail of poetry…
Join me for the London Lines weekend (20 -21 July) so that we can complete our poetry map of the city. Leave a thought or a memory of a London borough that you have a close connection with. Design and architecture duo Cabinet of Curiosity will use them to build a giant poetry map of the city winding itself around the Clore Ballroom – come and be part of it.
